ABOUT US

Action for inclusion and gender diversity in the Middle East region,

focused on the private sector

We live in a region where uncertainty and change are constant. There is much more still to do, and it’s time to do our part to push for more gender equality and inclusion in the workplace.

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) reports that the Middle East and North Africa region loses $575 billion a year due to the legal and social barriers that exist for women’s access to jobs and careers. As leaders in the Middle East, we have a critical role in ensuring that diversity and inclusion is core to our workplace culture and that our organisations are representative of the communities we serve.

What we’re doing

The Middle East Inclusion & Diversity Council aims to rally like-minded organisations in the Middle East region to advance diversity and inclusion within the workplace by working together and committing to change.

This commitment is driven by the collective realisation that driving diversity in our region is more than a moral imperative, it’s a societal obligation. Recognising that change starts at the top, CEOs from the world’s leading companies and business organisations, are leveraging their voice to advance diversity and inclusion in the private sector regionally.

Our ambition

Our goal is to take action to advance diversity and inclusion within the Middle East’s private sector. Companies recognise that signing our pledge is a step in the right direction in driving meaningful and impactful change. Contributing to the discussion and learning from each other is another. Representing some of the largest corporations in the world and in the region, we have a collective responsibility to make a difference.
